BIO: After graduating, Mercedes left Lima for Vanderbilt University in Nashville with then boyfriend, Sam Evans. While her relationship did play into her decision, Mercedes felt as though Vanderbilt was a good choice for her career goals as well. Not only did the school have a strong musical program, but Nashville itself was known for it’s music industry. Mercedes maintained her relationship with Sam for the entirety of her college career, however things became rocky when Mercedes was offered a recording contract with a New York based studio. Neither wanted to face a long term relationship, and it drove the couple apart. While losing Sam again just about broke Mercedes’ heart, the diva had the waiting arms of her friends in New York, and her big break in the music industry. After moving to New York almost two years ago, she’s recorded her debut album - which has been a moderate success, and is working on a second.
